The Nanny

     Ben Boone is medically retired from the Army after serving many tours fighting terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. The story begins when there is a fire next door – Ben surges into action once again and rescues the family. There is the Mom, two daughters and a young son. The family lost their Dad tragically five years ago.

   But the rescue of a family is just the beginning. Ben finds himself embroiled in a complex police investigation. The mother of the family is a Sergeant on the force and must deal with the major fire damage to the family home, and the realization that this was not an accident. 

   Until the family becomes is temporary house guests, Ben had not realized just how lonely he had been. The kids need protection – they need a Nanny. Now they have one a most unusual man.

This is a novel of suspense, mystery and love. If you like a book with a mixture of all three themes, then grab this book.

Fiction – Suspense - Mystery

    This book is so good. I loved the premise - A disabled veteran as the Nanny? Totally original concept - and, trust me, that is difficult to get these days with the market is so over-saturated with books that seem to run together with similar plot lines over and over again. 

    What a refreshing find! Not to mention that W. H. Short has a fantastic writing style and a writing voice that is perfectly suited for this genre. 

   I can almost see this movie playing out on the big screen - perhaps you should consider adapting this to a screen play? 

   A smart book with characters that I won’t soon forget. The Nanny is one of my favorite books that I’ve read lately. Excellent transitions and chapter hooks. Likable, relatable characters kept me turning the pages and wanting more. 

I fell a little bit in love with Ben, myself. 

   Well done!  It’s a 5 out of 5.
